Pion photoproduction and Compton scattering in the cloudy bag model

We extend a version of the cloudy bag model, which has successfully been applied previously to describe pion scattering, to also account for pion photoproduction and Compton scattering. Numerical results for the M/sub 1+/(T = (3/2)) multipole of the photoproduction amplitude and the f/sub M//sub M//sup 1+/ multipole of the photon scattering amplitude are presented and compared to experiments. A comparison is made with other treatments of these processes.
