Title: Natural parity states of /sup 20/Ne for 12<15. 5 MeV

Resonant parameters (J/sup ..pi../,E/sub ..cap alpha../,GAMMA,GAMMA/sub ..cap alpha..//GAMMA) for 67 natural-parity levels in /sup 20/Ne result from the analysis of new high-resolution /sup 16/O(..cap alpha..,..cap alpha../sub 0/) /sup 16/O data. Accurate absolute differential cross sections were measured simultaneously at 19 angles for alphas scattered by thin O/sub 2/ gas targets in a differentially-pumped scattering chamber. High resolution beams and small energy steps (..delta..E/sub ..cap alpha../approx.5 keV) permitted observation of narrow resonances in the range 9.2<13.5 MeV (12.0<15.5 MeV). In addition, near E/sub ..cap alpha../ = 9.6 MeV (E/sub x/ = 12.44 MeV), a pair detector measured the total cross section to the 0/sup +/ state in /sup 16/O at 6.05 MeV. The pair data confirm a previously observed state at E/sub x/ = 12.44 MeV but elastic scattering data imply a GAMMA0/GAMMA = 62 +- 15% for a J/sup ..pi../ = 0/sup +/ level, in disagreement with the 13 +- 2% reported by Garman et al.
