The operation and performance of a main station for making comprehensive measurements of solar radiation and related meteorological parameters is discussed and the instrumenting and operation of a mobile station is described. A program of graduate courses in atmospheric science and solar energy is presented. Research on the compilation of data for solar radiation in the Western Region, development of a spectral solar radiation model, analysis of insolation data collected in Davis, California, and thesis research are briefly discussed.
