Nuclear physics with antiprotons

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5982136
Transparencies of an invited talk presented at the Nashville meeting of the American Physical Society, October 18-20, 1984, are included. Topics include: (1) Salient features of two-body N anti N interactions (N anti N reversible NN, annihilation mechanisms (quark models), and optical model phenomenology); (2) anti N-nucleus interactions - elastic, inelastic, etc. (new cross section data, optical potentials, signatures of spin-isospin dependence of N anti N force, and (anti p, p) reactions); and (3) anti N-nucleus annihilation processes (features of cascade or fluid dynamics calculations, searches for baryonium and other exotics, meson interferometry, and (anti p, NN) reactions.
