Energy audits generate many questions

The amount of energy saved as a result of energy audits offered by utilities is open to question. Results of studies indicate that 20% or less of the conservation measures recommended are ever implemented, most of which are low-cost measures. The concern regarding auditor training and supervision and the value of audits are discussed. Some energy conserving measures recommended by auditors are briefly reviewed. (MCW)
