Leptonic decays of mesons in the quark bag model

We consider the leptonic decay constants of the pseudoscalar mesons (..pi.., K, D, F, B), vector mesons (rho, ..omega.., phi, K*, D*, F*, psi, UPSILON), and axial mesons (A/sub 1/, K/sub A/, D/sub A/, F/sub A/) in the quark bag model. The u- and d-quark masses are assumed to be equal to zero. Restrictions on the strange, charmed, and beauty quark masses are obtained from the widths of the decays phi..-->..e/sup +/e/sup -/, and psi..-->..e/sup +/e/sup -/, and UPSILON..-->..e/sup +/e/sup -/, respectively. The calculated values of the decay constants of ..pi --> mu nu.., K..--> mu nu.., rho..-->..e/sup +/e/sup -/, and ..omega -->..e/sup +/e/sup -/ are close to the corresponding experimental values. The meson decay constants grow with the mass of the mesons.
