First encouraging experience with a new type of belt material for electrostatic accelerators

A new belt material has been tested and installed in our HVEC-CN-type Van de Graaff with very good results. The accelerator has been running with this belt for several months up to design voltage of 6 MV. So far no indication of deterioration of the belt has been observed.
