Heavy quarks in antiproton-proton interactions

A new experimental method to study (q/sub H/, q-bar/sub H/) states formed in p-barp annihilations is discussed and compared to similar experiments at e/sup +/e/sup -/ colliders. Results on Charmonium states from a pioneering experiment at the ISR are summarized and plans for a future experiment at Fermilab are presented. The possibility of extending the method to the study of (b, b-bar) states is evaluated.
