The model of quark--gluon strings, based on the topological (1/N/sub f/) expansion, is used to consider the functions for fragmentation of various quarks and diquarks into hadrons. The behavior of the fragmentation functions for z..-->..0 and z..-->..1 is determined. It is shown how to estimate theoretically the degree of suppression of the cross sections and production of hadrons containing heavy quarks. Interpolation formulas are obtained for the fragmentation functions, satisfying all the necessary conservation laws.
