Feasibility study for an atmospheric fluidized-bed-combustion power plant in Brazil. Volume II. Program description. Final report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5941818
The objective of the study presented is to assess the technical and economic feasibility of retrofitting one of three existing oil-fired boilers to a coal-fired atmospheric fluidized bed combustion system. The boilers are each 88,000 lb/hr of steam units in a Brazil power plant. The study consists of an inspection of the existing equipment and feasibility engineering and cost estimate for the retrofit and demonstration. Included in the study are a site visit, coal and sorbent testing, boiler modifications, balance of plant modifications, and environmental criteria. (LEW)
