SPRING: helical spring design software for microcomputers

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5938920

SPRING is an interactive microcomputer program that has been developed for use in designing helical compression, extension, and torsion springs. It is designed to provide only those design options for which no design constraints are violated. Five standard spring materials may be chosen. Fatigue models for both torsion and bending are included. Ten examples of results using SPRING are given, followed by the program listing. (LEW)
