The physics of BB factories

Conference · · AIP Conference Proceedings (American Institute of Physics); (USA)
OSTI ID:5933202
Presently at many High Energy Physics laboratories including CORNELL, SLAC, CERN, DESY, KEK and Novosibirsk design studies for a high luminosity 10 GeV e{sup +}e{sup {minus}} machine are being carried out. This large effort documents a wide consensus in the importance and interest in continued B-physics. Measurements of the Z{sup 0}---pole have shown, that there are probably no more than 3 generations of quarks. The t---quark, once found, will immediately decay into a b---quark and will not provide any new information. Thus the b---quark will remain the only tool for precise studies of the weak interaction for ever.
