Interaction region optics for B-factory

A solution to the IR optics which simultaneously provides high luminosity, separates the two beams and permits low detector backgrounds is one of the central challenges for an e{sup +}e{sup {minus}} B-factory. The techniques and strategies used in the DESY, CERN/PSI, Cornell and SLAC machines were discussed so as to explore the relative merits of contrasting solutions to this difficult problem.
