The electrolytic conductivities of LiClO/sub 4/, LiAlCl/sub 4/, LiAsF/sub 6/, NaClO/sub 4/, NaBPh/sub 4/, and Bu/sub 4/NClO/sub 4/ have been measured in methyl formate at 25/sup 0/C. Evidence is presented for strong association between the perchlorate ion and the formyl proton of the solvent. Ion association and triple ion formation constants suggest that LiClO/sub 4/, LiAlCl/sub 4/, and NaClO/sub 4/ form solvent separate ion pairs and triple ions. NaBPh/sub 4/ forms contact ion pairs and triple ions, and the remaining salts appear to form both types of ion pairs and triple ions.
