Application of a battery of short-term bioassays for testing and genetic toxicity of Paraho shale oil products

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5930333
The relative mutagenicity and genetic toxicity of crude, hydrotreated, and refined shale oil products from the Paraho surface retort are to be determined and their potential health hazards compared with similar materials derived from petroleum. This will be done by applying a battery of bioassays consisting of a standard microbial test and in vitro and in vivo mammalian systems to obtain a basis for estimating health hazards to humans.
