Effect of cadmium administration on absorption, retention, and excretion of zinc-65 administered to rats

Journal Article · · Environ. Res.; (United States)

Whole-body retention curves were constructed by plotting the radio activities versus time on semilog scale to measure the influence of cadmium on absorption, retention, and excretion of orally administered zinc-65. Dietary cadmium increased the absorption, retention, and excretion of orally administered zinc-65. Absorption of zinc-65 was greater in rats fed a semipurified diet than in those fed a commercial diet.
