This patent describes a dual stage hydrocracking conversion process. It comprises: contacting a hydrocarbon stream boiling above a temperature of about 300{degrees} F. in a first stage under hydrocracking conditions and in the presence of hydrogen with a first hydrocracking catalyst composition comprising a synthetic porous crystalline material characterized by an x-ray diffraction pattern including values substantially as set forth in Table I of the specification and at least one hydrogenation component to provide a first hydrocracked effluent; and contacting the first hydrocracked effluent in a second stage under hydrocracking conditions and in the presence of hydrogen with a second hydrocracking catalyst composition comprising zeolite Beta and at least one hydrogenation component to provide a second hydrocracked effluent.
