Correlation between coal-tar wash-oil fraction composition and absorptivity

Journal Article · · Coke Chem. USSR (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5900248

The results of a study of the correlation between the compositions and absorptivities of narrow cuts taken from coke-oven plant wash-oil are presented. The narrow cuts were obtained from commercial wash-oil samples by rectification in a distillation column of 25 theoretical plate efficiency. The adsorptivities of the original oils and the narrow cuts were determined by inverse gas chromatography at 20/sup 0/C. The cuts having the highest absorptivity have the highest concentrations of monomethyl naphthalene homologues.
