Solubility of zinc in indium antimonide in various sections of the In-Sb-Zn ternary system
The retrograde character of zinc solubility in indium antimonide in various sections of the In-Sb-Zn ternary system was determined. The strongest retrogradation is exhibited in the InSb-Zn section where the highest solubility of zinc in indium antimonide of 1.51 at.% at 480/sup 0/C was discovered. In all the investigated sections the maximum solubility of zinc was observed at the same temperature of 480/sup 0/C, and for the section InSb-ZnSb it was 1.30 at.%, for the section InSb-Zn/sub 3/Sb/sub 2/ 1.29 at.%, and for the section InSB-(0.5In + 0.5Zn) 0.76 at.%. The zinc content in the solid solution of Zn in InSb at the melting point of the eutectic (280/sup 0/C) coincides with literature data.
