The Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Program FY 1990 continued to emphasize battery, fuel cell, and propulsion systems development up to the level of the testing and evaluation of proof-of-concept vehicles in the laboratory and in fleet operations. Progress made in developing electric and hybrid vehicle technologies is described beginning with highlights of recent accomplishments in FY 1990. Detailed descriptions of the program activities during FY 1990 is given on battery, fuel cell, propulsion system developments, and the testing and evaluation of new technology in fleet site operations and laboratories. In accordance with the reporting requirements of the Act, the Annual Report contains a status report on incentives and use of foreign components and concludes with a List of Publications resulting from the DOE program. 8 figs., 7 tabs.
