Low-temperature thermal conductivity of single-crystal Bi/sub 2/Sr/sub 2/CaCu/sub 2/O/sub 8/

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter; (United States)

The thermal conductivity /kappa/ of a single crystal of superconductingBi/sub 2/Sr/sub 2/CaCu/sub 2/O/sub 8/ has beenmeasured at temperatures from 0.03 to 9 K. Below 2 K, where /kappa/ displaysa /ital T//sup 2/ dependence, the results agree in both temperature dependenceand magnitude with that of single-crystal superconductingYBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7/minus//ital x// orHoBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7/minus//ital x//, and are remarkablysimilar to the thermal conductivity of glasses.
