Spectroscopy of the 5/sup -/, 6/sup -/, and 7/sup -/ states in /sup 68/Zn via the (d,p) reaction

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. C; (United States)
The structure of 5/sup -/, 6/sup -/, and 7/sup -/ yrast states in /sup 68/Zn has been studied through the reaction /sup 67/Zn(d,p)/sup 68/Zn at E/sub d/ = 6 MeV. The spectroscopic factors in the (d,p) reaction strongly suggest that these negative-parity states are not rotational states, but spherical two-quasiparticle states with ..nu..(1f/sub 5/2/1g/sub 9/2/)= 5,6, /sup 7/ configurations. The possible low-spin members with ..nu..(1f/sub 5/2/1g/sub 9/2/)= 2,3, /sup 4/ configurations have been observed in the present reaction. Spectroscopic factors and l values for 36 levels have also been extracted by angular distribution measurements.
