Photoproduction on pions and sum rule saturation
A model of hadron photoproduction on pions is considered at low and intermediate energies. In this model the reaction amplitude is the sum of the contributions of the s-channel resonances and one-pion exchange (OPE). The model is applied to the saturation of the Cabibbo-Radicati sum rule and the superconvergence sum rule for Compton scattering on pions. The inclusion of the OPE contributions leads to good saturation of the first sum rule and affects the earlier conclusion that the second sum rule is violated because of the contribution of the fixed pole J/sup P/=0/sup +/, I=2 in the ..gamma pi..-scattering amplitude. Violation of two-component duality in Compton scattering is pointed out.
