Reactive and inelastic energy transfer in H+D/sub 2/ collisions studied by single-collision CARS spectroscopy

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5880776
Highly time-resolved (approx. =5ns) coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) spectroscopy obtains product Raman spectra after single collisions with D/sub 2/ of laser-photolytically-generated hydrogen atoms. Varying photolysis wavelength changes H-atom energies. HD and D/sub 2/ Raman spectra yield product quantum-state distributions, elucidating dynamics of reactive and inelastic energy transfer.
