Excitation of surface plasmons in cylinders by electrons

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter; (United States)
The radiation emitted by a metallic or semiconducting cylinder around which a charge is moving in a circular orbit is studied. Under proper resonance conditions this secondary radiation is much larger than the primary radiation emitted by the moving charge in the absence of the cylinder.
