  1. ed.; Oak Ridge National Lab., TN (United States)

This volume contains papers relating to the structural integrity assessment of pressure vessels, with special emphasis on the effects of crack-tip constraint and material nonhomogeneity on fracture toughness. The papers were prepared for technical sessions developed under the sponsorship of the ASME Pressure Vessels and Piping Division Committee for Design and Analysis. They were presented at the 1993 Pressure Vessels and Piping Division Conference in Denver, Colorado, July 25--29, 1993. The primary objective of the sponsoring organization is to provide a forum for the dissemination and discussion of information on development and application of technology for the structural integrity assessment of pressure vessels and piping. This publication includes contributions from authors from France, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom, and the US. The papers are organized in three sessions, each with a particular emphasis as indicated in the following section titles: Special Topics in Reactor Pressure Vessel Integrity; Fracture in Welds and Nonhomogeneous Materials; and Constraint Effects in Fracture. Individual papers have been processed separately for inclusion in the appropriate data bases.
