Fracture mechanics: Applications and new materials

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5875237

The highlight topic of this ASME Pressure Vessels and Piping Division Conference is Technology in a Global Society. The technologies associated with the structural integrity assessment and component life management play key roles in the safe operation of pressure vessels and piping. Innovative analytical and experimental techniques developed in these areas can also be used to evaluate the suitability of new materials for pressure vessels and piping applications. The papers included in this volume span these technologies in diverse applications such as nuclear, fossil and aerospace. The papers are organized in four sections, each with a particular emphasis as indicated in their titles: Fracture Mechanics in Pressure Vessels and Piping; New Materials in Pressure Vessels and Piping; User Experience With Failure Assessment Diagrams; and Recertification Issues in Aerospace Systems. Individual Papers are processed separately for inclusion in the appropriate data bases.
