Analysis of energy spectra of protons from the reactions /sup 23/Na (d,p)/sup 24/Na, /sup 27/Al (d,p)/sup 28/Al, and /sup 31/P (d,p)/sup 32/P has been carried out. Excitation energies have been measured for 97 levels of /sup 24/Na, /sup 28/Al, and /sup 32/P nuclei with uncertainties of about 1 keV. The dependence of the level density for the nuclei /sup 24/Na, /sup 28/Al, and /sup 32/P on the excitation energy is found with better accuracy, and a new method has been proposed to evaluate the number of levels omitted because of the finite energy resolution. It is shown in a formal way that the densities of flow-lying levels can be equally satisfactorily described by the constant-temperature and Fermi-gas models.
