Results from the operation of a roller grate process development unit

Allis-Chalmers has constructed and operated a PDU that is used for testing oil shales and other hydrocarbon-containing materials. The PDU was designed to simulate the Roller Grate retorting process. Presented is a process review, a discussion of the PDU and summary results from over 60 PDU tests.
