Hydraulic versa-trieve packer
This patent describes a hydraulic well packer of the kind having a seal assembly and an anchor slip assembly movably mounted onto a body mandrel for sealing the annulus between the packer and the bore of a well casing, and including a hydraulic actuator assembly movably mounted onto the body mandrel and coupled to the seal assembly and anchor assembly for extending the anchor slip assembly and the seal assembly into sealing engagement. The improvement consists of first and second tubular linking means interposed between the hydraulic actuator assembly and a selected one of the seal assembly and the anchor slip assembly, the first and second tubular link means being disposed in telescoping engagement with each other, and including a first shearable lock releasably securing the first and second link means together, and including a transfer lug carried by one of the link means and engageable with the other link means in interlocking relation only upon release of the shearable lock.
