Homogeneous carbon-hydrogen bond activation by electrophilic palladium(II) species

Conference · · Am. Chem. Soc., Div. Pet. Chem., Prepr.; (United States)

The activation of carbon-hydrogen bonds by transition metals that leads to the selective functionalization of hydrocarbons, especially alkanes, is one of the most challenging problems in organometallic chemistry. Herein, we report our results on the palladium (II)-mediated oxidation of arenes and alkanes through a nonradical, electrophilic C-H activation pathway.
