Microtron with adjustable accelerated-electron energy

Journal Article · · Instrum. Exp. Tech. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5843410
A microtron is described whose electron energy can be varied in 500-keV steps in the range of 1.87-5.7 MeV by extracting the accelerated beam from different orbits, starting with the second. In this case, the axis of the extracted beam is not shifted in space. Within one orbit, the energy is continuously controlled by varying the magnetic field. The current of an extracted accelerated beam can be varied within 0.3-40 mA in any orbit.
