Target device for making radionuclides in a cyclotron

A target device is described for making radionuclides in the external beam of a cyclotron. The device provides remote control of target insertion into the ion guide containing the beam, removal from the radiation field after bombardment, releasing the target, and transferring it to the transport container. The device provides for routine target irradiation with an isochronous cyclotron.
