Mechanism and parameters of the quenching of luminescence of rare-earth ions by hydroxyl impurity groups in laser phosphate glass

An experimental study was made of the parameters and mechanism of the quenching of the luminescence of rare-earth ions by hydroxyl groups. This was done for nine transitions. The permissible concentration of the OH groups were found for laser glasses intended for different applications.
