Photochemical ozone formation in the irradiation of ambient air samples using a mobile smog chamber

The feasibility of using irradiation of ambient polluted air samples in a mobile smog chamber to systematically characterize ozone formation was studied. As a control, experiments were also performed in a propylene-nitrogen oxides-humidified air system. The proportional relationship between the maximum ozone concentration reached and the photostationary-state concentration parameter was obtained for both systems. Experimental data are analyzed.
