Interconnection of high speed and high frequency devices and systems; Proceedings of the Meeting, Newport Beach, CA, Mar. 15, 17, 1988
Various papers on the interconnection of high-speed and high-frequency devices and systems are presented. Some of the individual subjects considered are: optical interconnects for multiprocessors, design and simulation of optically interconnected computer systems, optical interconnects using ferroelectric liquid crystals, high-speed semiconductor lasers for interconnects, optical interconnected phased arrays, microwave active array elements, quasi-optical microwave and millimeter-wave power combining, and microwave interconnects via electromagnetic coupling. Also addressed are: dielectric loss reduction in superconducting transmission lines, high-frequency characterization of tape-automated bonding interconnects, characterization of high-speed radiative effects in interconnects, propagation of picosecond pulses in coplanar transmission lines, need for low-resistance interconnects in future high-speed systems, characterization of an experimental thin-film interconnection structure, and nonlinear optoelectronic effects in ultrafast photoconductive switches.
