Title: Hoosier National Forest land and resource management plan, Indiana

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5810632

The final environmental impact statement (EPA No. 850408F) on a land and resource management plan for the Hoosier National Forest in south central Indiana describes a 10-year program to increase timber productivity, broaden recreational uses, open forests areas for oil and gas production, and develop and protect wildlife habitat. Positive impacts will result from the production of oil and gas and wood products, while the construction associated with development will destroy some vegetation and soils. Lake and marsh land creation for recreational purposes will eliminate some terrestrial habitat. The mandate for the impact statement comes from the National Forest Management Act of 1976.
