It is time that fuel oil marketers begin to look harder at their service departments to bring more quality into their businesses. Quality is the key factor in bringing in the type of customer needed to sustain the business - the prompt paying, high volume, comfort-oriented customers. Running a quality-oriented service department means installing equipment, performing emergency maintenance, doing annual maintenance, and selling quality parts. The goal of a full service fuel oil company should be to bring service to the forefront of the business.
