Installation effects in ducted fan systems

Book ·
OSTI ID:5803519
This book contains a compilation of papers which bring together the data on installation effects from manufacturers, users and research workers in this field. This material presented will enable better prediction of performance of ducted systems. Papers consider the aerodynamic, acoustic, vibration, mechanical and thermal performances of components. Particular reference is made to fans, heat exchangers, humidifiers, dampers, mixing boxes, filters, attenuators, dust extractors and terminal devices. Contents include: Interaction between the fan and the system; Cooling system performance in fighting vehicles; Prediction of the effect of distorted inlet flows on fan and compressor stability; Model testing of splitter silencing systems; On-fan applications of noise attenuators; Multi-blade dampers for ducted air systems.
