This article reports on work aimed at determining the region of crystallization of nitrogen-containing high-silica zeolites and how their properties are influenced by the nature of the silica- and nitrogen-containing raw materials and by the type of cation. An increase of the silica content in the alkylammonium aluminosilicate system leads to the formation of a crystal phase that has been termed ''pentasil,'' which is similar to zeolites of the ZSM family. The nature of the original silica-containing raw material has very little effect on the direction of crystallization. The possibility of crystallization of alumina/silica gels obtained on the basis of different nitrogen-containing compounds offers a means for expanding the raw material base for the production of high-silica zeolites.
