Radio-emitting supernovae as young plerions

Journal Article · · Sov. Astron. Lett. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5792134
The radio emission observed in supernovae comes from young plerions formed immediately after the outbursts. As such a plerion expands, its radio power will decay approximately as R/sup -1/. Radio waves will be emitted only by supernovae of type II.
