Imperfections in single crystals of TlGaSe/sub 2/

The authors give the results of x-ray microprobe analysis and transmission electron microscopy of crystals of TlGaSe/sub 2/. The x-ray spectrum of the characteristic radiation of a crystal of TlGaSe/sub 2/ is shown. The TlGaSe/sub 2/ crystals were grown by the Bridgman-Stockbarger method. Investigations of the shapes and sizes of the inclusions showed that there are linear defects along which the impurities are segregated. The results of a study of the photoelectric properties of crystals of TlGaSe/sub 2/ indicate that the segregation of superstoichiometric selenium may occur.
