Use of fluidized bed municipal refuse incinerators with heat recovery in Japan

A 450 t/d municipal refuse incinerator plant was completed in May, 1982 in a Tokyo surburb. The plant utilized three fluidized-bed incinerators (150 t/d each) and two turbine generators (1500 kW each) to recover energy. Shredded refuse is burned. Control of the incineration rate has been relatively easy.
