Conserving energy without capital: the alternatives

Third-party financing is a new strategy for investing in energy conservation without capital that addresses the problems of high interest rates and competition for investment capital. Over 25 firms now offer this option, but energy managers are advised to investigate the legal aspects, especially the new tax laws, before deciding on a leasing, shared savings, or energy-services contract plans.
