A chiral-invariant generalization of the MIT bag model is proposed, in which a nonlinear realization of chiral symmetry is used. Pions, which interact with the surface of the quark bag and do not penetrate inside, play the role of Goldstone particles in our model. A solution of the nonlinear chiral equation for the pion field is found and corrections to the quark wave functions of the MIT model are studied. Chiral corrections to the hadron masses are calculated and shown to be of the order of the gluon corrections. Calculations of the transition amplitudes of B ..-->.. B'..pi..(p) have shown the existence of a universal form factor j/sub 0/(pR) and resulted in reasonable values for the coupling constants of pions with baryons. For example, the width of the ..delta.. resonance is calculated to be GAMMA/sub ..delta../ = 85 MeV.
