Corporate energy departments seen cutting back, decentralizing

Corporate success in integrating energy management into the regular management structure has led to a cutback in separate energy departments in some major companies. The restructuring will expand the engineering and purchasing functions of some energy managers, who will be involved in implementing conservation at the local plant level. Comments from several companies indicate that conservation investments will continue. (DCK)
