Great interest is being shown in Colombia's coal deposits at a time when the international demand for coal is increasing. Colombia has important reserves of both high-quality coking and steaming coal. If a satisfactory program of mine and infra-structure development can be worked out by the Colombian Government in cooperation wth overseas companies, then demand for these coals would be assured. Several deposits are described briefly.
