The problem of a faulty compressed air dryer in the compressed air system at the Paulson, New Jersey, Mobil Research and Development Corporation Facility was solved by replacement with an energy-efficient air dryer. The replacement air dryer that uses the heat in the air directly from the compressor to provide the energy to regenerate the drying towers is described in some detail. Since the heat-of-compression air dryer requires no purge air, 100% of compressor capacity is reserved for plant uses. (BLM)
