Separating curium and californium by solvent extraction with salts of D2EHPA

Results are presented on synthesizing the salts of D2EHPA formed by copper, nickel, cobalt, cadmium, iron, lanthanum, neodymium, and ammonium. Measurements have been made on the separation of curium and californium under static conditions by D2EHPA extraction with the addition of these salts. The salts of neodymium, ammonium, and iron increase the curium and californium separation coefficients by factors of 1.5, 1.2, and 6 correspondingly.
