Comments on the mechanisms of heterogeneous catalysis of the hydrodenitrogenation reaction

The discussion has attempted to develop a comprehensive picture of the catalytic pathways by which heterogeneous catalytic hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) proceeds. The various mechanisms that have been proposed should represent a comprehensive review of observations made in laboratories and in the literature. The authors hope that these proposed mechanisms will prove to be valuable in the development of improved HDN catalysts.
